The international Populism Research Network based at Kiel University brings together interdisciplinary expertise from researchers in 13 countries across Europe, North and South America. Its aim is to analyse populist developments on a global scale and provide well-founded perspectives on current political dynamics. What are the differences between populism and fascism, and where do they intersect? In this lecture, Prof. Carlos de la Torre from the University of Florida in Gainesville, who\u2019s a leading expert on populism research and currently a visiting scholar at Kiel University, addresses these questions. He examines core elements such as notions of \u201cthe people,\u201d leadership styles, and political practice.
