About me

Since 2019, Sara Minelli is a postdoc researcher in the research area of „Political Theory, History of Ideas and Political Culture” and coordinator of the International Populism Research at Kiel University. She is an associated researcher at the Franco-German research institution Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin and at the Centre des Savoirs sur le Politique - Recherches et Analyses (CESPRA) at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris.

Her PhD thesis „Politiques du mythe au 20ème siècle, entre fascisme et critique“ (Politics of myth in the 20th century, between fascism and critique - 2022, EHESS) investigates with the politicisation of myth and the mythification of politics in the early twentieth century. The dissertation reconstructs the history of the idea of a ‘political myth’ and develops a philosophical critique of myth in politics drawing on the theories of Ernst Cassirer, Ernst Bloch, Theodor W. Adorno and Max Horkheimer, among others.
